Nadia Pearce is a London-based mixed-media artist working with analogue photographic processes, archival printing techniques, found materials and fine art practices. Drawn to the physicality and slowness of analogue photography, her practice considers the photograph as both image and object, using processes of making and transformation to slow down, document and hold onto moments in time.
Working across photography, collage, sculpture and drawing, Pearce explores intimacy, memory, human connection and the surreal nature of being human, alongside the relationship between people and the natural world. Personal photographs and writings sit alongside found, scanned and historical imagery, with materials physically manipulated and transformed by hand.
Her work explores how memories are constructed, preserved and revisited, and how images and materials can hold traces of people, places and experiences.
